LGG: Promises of God ~ Week 1, Day 3

Read & SOAP:

Psalm 1:6

S: For the L-RD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked shall perish.

O&A: Starting with the short rabbit trail - I LOVE this Psalm. It is one I pray over my husband often, usually on erev Shabbat (Friday nights) as part of how our family enters into the weekly Sabbath. I've also prayed it with sisters over their husbands, especially during arguments. It really helps as wives to pray for our husbands, even when we're upset with them!

The Way: דֶּרֶךְ derek, deh'-rek; from H1869; a road (as trodden); figuratively, a course of life or mode of action, often adverb:—along, away, because of, by, conversation, custom, (east-) ward, journey, manner, passenger, through, toward, (high-) (path-) way(-side), whither(-soever).

All of Deuteronomy 30, but here are samples:
- (vs 15-18), "Behold, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil; in that I command you this day to love the L-RD your G-d, to walk in his ways, and to keep his mitzvot and his statutes and his ordinances, that you may live and multiply, and that the L-RD your G-d may bless you in the land where you go in to possess it.
But if your heart turn away, and you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; I denounce to you this day, that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land, where you pass over the Yarden to go in to possess it.

- (vs 19-20), "I call heaven and eretz/Earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your seed; to love the L-RD your G-d, to obey his voice, and to cleave to him; for he is your life, and the length of your days; that you may dwell in the land which the L-RD swore to your fathers, to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov, to give them."

Romans 6:16 "Don't you know that to whom you present yourselves as servants to obedience, his servants you are whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?"

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Messiah Yeshua our L-rd."

We can choose death or life, blessings or curses...sin to death, or obedience to righteousness... it's all tied in with the way/the path/the life we trod.

Amos 3:3 "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"

If we are walking the path with Yeshua, we must be in agreement with Him. If one is walking with haSatan/the adversary, then that person must be in agreement with him. So wow, not only choosing the path, but understanding that the path you are on will determine with whom you will walk...

P: Avinu Malkeinu, our Father and our King, we bless You Adonai, for the free will You've given each of us, and that we have the option to CHOOSE YOU, just as YOU have CHOSEN US! Abba, I pray this day we each will choose obedience to You, Your righteousness, the path that leads to You, and in return receive Your blessings. I thank You, Abba, for the eternal life we have in Messiah Yeshua.
B'Shem Yeshua, Amein.
