Week 4 ~ Day 5

GROWING THROUGH PRAYER (A 'LOVING GOD GREATLY' BIBLE STUDY)

February 5, 2016
Week 4 ~ Day 5

Read: Colossians 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17
SOAP: 1 Thessalonians 5:17

S:

Continue steadfastly in prayer,
watching therein with thanksgiving;
Colossians 4:2

 Pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:17

O&A:
Again, persistence.  Persistence in prayer.  Don’t stop praying.  Pray about all things, in all places, at all times.

P:
Oh Abba, my Elohim, You are so awesome and wonderful!  I asked of You to speak to me about these verses, and You said, “Persistence.”  I said, “Okay, Abba, what else?”  Persistence.  “Yes, and what else?”  Persistence.  Over and over again, You repeated ‘persistence’.  Then You said, “Persistence in Prayer.”  Abba, You are teaching me so many things about how to come to You, when to come to You, how to present myself to You… and how to be persistent in my prayers.  Abba, enlarge Yourself in me, and take me over.  I pray that I won’t be discouraged when I don’t see Your hand at work, because Your word also says not to let your right hand know what your left hand is doing, so I would do good to remember that You are not obliged to show us Your hand at work; You are sovereign.  Abba, I lift up to You the petitions of family, friends, and loved ones.  You know the cry of our hearts, for salvation, the redemption of sins, for needs to be met.  I offer these up and ask that Your will be done, for You see much more than we do of the occasion for these prayers.  May we be persistent in our prayers, at all times, in all places, and not wavering in faith, hope, love, and belief in You, our King.
In Yeshua’s name, Amein.

Matthew 6:3 speaks about giving to the needy, and not letting your right hand know/see what your left hand is doing.  As I prayed, this came to my mind, not to use it out of context, but that I wouldn't lose heart if I don't see Abba at work.
